Different pipetting technologies require different mixer geometries for optimized LNP formation. Positive liquid displacement systems use the 1:1 micromixer because the instrument can directly set individual channel flow rates. Air displacement and pressure-controlled platforms use 3:1, 5:1, or 7:1 micromixers because channel resistance is used to control flow ratios.
